Incumbent Governor of Anambra and one of the contenders of the just concluded election has been declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC with a total vote of 234,071.
He is followed by the APC candidate, Dr. Tony Nwoye who scored 98,752 votes. Oseloka Obaze of the PDP took third with 70,593 votes while Osita Chidoka of UPP came fourth with 7,746 votes.
Announcing the result, the Chief Returning Officer for the election, Professor Zanna Akpagu, said the incumbent governor won in all the 21 local governments of the state.
The exercise was carried out on Saturday with candidates of about 37 political parties contesting for the exalted position of the governor of the state.
Leading contenders for the position were candidates of APGA, Obiano; Tony Nwoye of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and Oseloka Obaze of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
