FMR. ABIA DEPUTY GOV., HON. ACHO NWAKANMA BURIES LATE MUM

It was a gathering of who’s who yesterday, November 23rd, 2017 as the remains of late madam Jemimah Nwachi Nwakanma, the mother of former Deputy Governor of Abia State, Rt. Hon Eric Acho Nwakama was committed to mother earth.

The funeral service was presided over by Pastor (Dr) Bassey Udoh, the President, Eastern Nigerian Union Conference of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. The event which held at Umuorji, Ohanze in Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State had the Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu and members of the state executive council in attendance.

Late Madam Jemimah Nwachi Nwakanma, is also the mother of Abia State First Lady and wife of the governor, Deaconess Nkechi Ikpeazu.

In her speech, the Wife of the President, Aisha Buhari, commiserated with the Wife of Abia State Governor, Mrs Nkechi Ikpeazu, urging her to take heart. Mrs. Buhari, who was represented by the Deputy National Women’s Leader of APC. Mrs Tina Abike appreciated the fact that Mama Nwakanma contributed greatly to the society and trained her children well, who now occupy exalted positions in the society and called on all affected by the death to bear it with fortitude.

The Chairperson, Southern Governors’ Wives Forum , Mrs. Nkechi Okorocha identified with Mrs. Ikpeazu and urged her to take heart on the fact that Madam Jemimah Nwakanma lived a good life.

Speaking at the event, Governor Ikpeazu described the demise of his mother-in-law Mama Nwakanma as “a close of a very important chapter in the annals of humanity”, noting that she was a brilliant professional, who lived an exemplary life style.

Late Mama Jemimah Nwachi Nwakanma who died at the age of 87 years, is survived by seven children including the Wife of the Abia State Governor, Deaconess Nkechi Ikpeazu and Chief Eric Acho Nwakanma.
