CHIEF SAMPSON NNEJI’S REMAINS ARRIVE NIGERIA; TO BE LAID TO REST THIS FRIDAY

The body of late businessman and community leader, Chief Sampson Nweke Nneji (JP), Odibo–Oha of Nkanu Land, has arrived Nigeria. The remains arrived from Houston, Texas, United States of America early yesterday, April 9th, 2018.

Accompanied by family members, it was flown to Enugu the same yesterday morning preparatory to being laid to rest on Friday April 13th. It will be recalled that the late Chief Nneji died in Houston last year on a visit to his children in the United States.

Activities leading to the burial of the late nabob, began in the city of Houston Texas on the night of March 24th, 2018 with a wake keep organised by the late businessman’s sons, Ofor and Obi.

According to reports by newsbargeafrica.blogspot.com.ng, “the event was full of eulogies as many rendered good testimonies of what Odibo-Oha did to them during his eventful lifetime”

newsbargeafrica.blogspot.com.ng also reported that “after sing songs and offering of prayers, it was fun all the way as friends and well-wishers of the family who gathered for the event continued in merriment which was part of their last respect to the late sage”

It has also been activities galore in Nigeria as a Service of Songs was held at Aba on Wednesday April 4th at the Methodist Church Wesley Cathedral Premises, 38/46 Park Road, Aba, Abia State.

Last Friday, April 6th, there was a Night of Tributes at the Enugu Sports Club Enugu. Events will continue with a Wake Keep on Thursday, 12th April at the Nneji country home, Ogonogo Eji Ndiuno, Akpugo while Interment will take place at the same venue on Friday April 13th, after a funeral service at the St. Stephen’s Methodist Church, Obinagu Akpugo, Nkanu West LGA.
