Life as it is generally believed is full of twist and turns; sometimes, it favors and another time, it becomes the opposite. For the family of one Ojo Folake Helen, a mother of four, their beloved daughter has courted trouble only because she heed the call of Nigeria to expose corrupt people through the whistleblower policy.
The lady has reportedly went missing, albeit mysteriously, after allegedly giving out a popular politician to the anti-graft body, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC on pileup accusations that border largely on financial malfeasance, misappropriations and possibly embezzlement of public funds in his care.
The lady who used to live at 24, Gidado Street, Unity Estate, Abule Odu, Alimosho, Lagos State, has not been seen now for weeks running into months since she exposed the politician to the EFCC via the whistleblower policy. In tow on the missing spree, is Fatima, 24, her eldest daughter, whose whereabouts since the debacle started, is yet to be known.
What is however intriguing to many who are in the know is how the politician got to know about her involvement.
The alleged accused politician has been threatening to deal with her ruthlessly, hence we are told the lady for the fear of her life has gone into hiding to escape the consequence. The family of the missing lady is now crying hoarse over the mysterious disappearance of their daughter and granddaughter, without any trace of their whereabouts.
Although, the identity of the politician and the actual crime is yet to be ascertained or verified as at the time of filling in this report, but, accusing fingers are being pointed at this powerful and very influential politician as he might have circumvented the whistle-blown by the lady in active connivance with some operatives of the EFCC who might have collected huge sum to cover up the alleged scam.
Recall that since the celebrated and widely applauded signing of the whistleblower policy into law by the Nigerian parliament (at a joint sitting of the National Assembly- Senate and House of Representatives) many accused persons have been trailed, apprehended and arrested for possible prosecution.
