All roads led to the Digital Bridge Institute, No. 1 Nitel Street, Cappa Bus Stop, Agege Motor Road, Oshodi Lagos last Saturday, April 28th, 2018, as city businessman, Chief (Dr.) Chigozie Nwaolisa, was honoured with a professorial emeritus investiture by the European American University, Dominica.
This is coming barely three years after he was conferred with a doctorate degree, of Doctor of Arts (honouris causa) for his exploits in community development and leadership. The award was conferred on him at the Bodiaku Hall of the University of Ghana(city campus) in Accra Ghana.
On hand to celebrate him last weekend, were prominent Nigerians, businessmen and society bigwigs, who came in large numbers.
Chief Chigozie Nwaolisa (Eselu N’awka Etiti) was born into the family of Ichie Ekwueme George and Patricia Nwaolisa from Umudunu village in Awka Etiti, Anambra State. He grew up at the commercial city of Onitsha where the parents lived and did business.
He started his educational pursuit there and after his high school, he delved into business to help the father in his trade. It could be recalled that Chief Chigozie bought his first motorcycle-a Honda CD185 in 1976 and it was talk of the town which earned him the title “Eselu N’enu Ego” which he is still known and called today.
While in Onitsha, he belonged to several clubs and associations. He was one time the Vice President of Friends Club at Onitsha and later became the President. For his leadership roles, several associations honoured him. It was on his high quality leadership roles that the National Club of Akwa Etiti crowned him the “Lord” of the club in 1982.
With his relocation to Lagos in the early 90’s, Eselu founded a new association, “House of Commons” which was a club for youths. A consummate sportsman, a humanitarian and philanthropist, Chief Chigozie was to later found the prestigious Diamond Fitness Club of Nigeria, which is perhaps the most prominent social club in the whole country today. He is currently the grand patron of the club today.
Chief Chigozie Nwaolisa, also holds several prominent titles garnered all over Nigeria as well as awards conferred on him from all parts of the world.
