*MEET THE FOUR MEN BATTLING FOR PDP’S TICKET
Right now, there is a raging battle among heavyweight politicians over who will get the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP ticket to represent Bekwara/Obanliku/Obudu Federal Constituency, in the House of Representatives. The seat is currently held by Hon. Legor Idagbor.
Insiders say that among the federal constituencies been competed for in Cross River State, Bekwara/Obanliku/Obudu, is special and more competitive as it is the constituency of the incumbent governor, Senator Ben Ayade.
Already, four prominent sons from the three local government areas (Bekwara/Obanliku/Obudu) that make up the constituency, have thrown their hats into the ring for the PDP ticket. They include the incumbent, Hon. Legor Idagbor, Prince KJ Jeddy-Agba, Dr. DC Enamhe and Dr. Godwin Amanke. While Idagbor and Enamhe are from Bekwara, Amanke hails from Obanliku, Jeddy-Agba is a prince of the Obudu kingdom.
GODWIN AMANKE
Dr. Godwin Amanke is the chairman of the Cross River State Scholarship Board. He is also a former chairman of his Obanliku Local Government Area although he was impeached before completing his tenure. Dr. Amanke holds a Phd in Biological Science from the University of Calabar.
PRINCE KJ JEDDY-AGBA
A prince of the Utsu Jeddy-Agba family, Kay-Jay Jeddy Agba is a graduate of Political
Science from the University of Calabar. He is a businessman and recently the chairman of Cross River State New City Commission. He lost the senatorial ticket against Ayade some years back. Many say his ambition will not go far as the Governor comes from the same area with him.
DC ENAMHE
Dr. DC Enamhe is a foundation member of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP. He was SA Youths to former Governor Liyel Imoke. The initiator of Think Cross River, he was Chief of Staff to former deputy governor of Cross River State, late Chief John Okpa and first youth leader of PDP in Cross River State. A lawyer, he recently resigned as Gov.Ayade’s SSA on Communications and Branding.
HON. LEGOR IDAGBOR
The incumbent Reps member, Hon. Legor Idagbor is a former Secretary and two-time chairman of Bekwara Local Government Area. He also served as Commissioner for
Works under Gov. Liyel Imoke. His
opponents believe he has performed below expectation.
