.THE STORY OF BARRISTER CHIMAOBI ADIELE
When the campaign fireworks begin this month, one of the new faces that is making waves in the Lagos circuit, is Barrister Chimaobi Adiele. The lawyer, is the flag bearer of the United Progressives Party, UPP, for the Oshodi/Isolo 11 Federal Constituency.
He is contesting for the seat currently held by Hon. Tony Nwulu, who incidentally, is the UPP flag bearer for the Imo State governorship election.
Although he is not the candidate of the two major political parties that hold sway in Lagos State at the moment, many believe that he is the man who will carry the day due to his style of mobilization and personality.
Chimaobi Adiele is the Managing Partner of Multi-Choice Solicitors, a leading Lagos Commercial law firm and widely regarded as one of the most enterprising and well-rounded lawyers of his generation. He is a seasoned, hardnosed litigator, and adroit in advocacy, arbitration and all forms of dispute resolution mechanisms. Chimaobi Adiele was educated at the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University Zaria where he obtained the LL.B certificate in 2001 and the Nigerian Law School, Lagos and was called to the Nigeria Bar in 2003.
Prior to the establishment of Multi-Choice Solicitors in 2006, Mr. Adiele had worked in some leading law firms in Nigeria including Okoye & Okoye & Co and the Chambers of Obon Akpan. He also had a stint with Indemnity Partners, a renowned civil litigation practice firm. Aside practice experience he has also worked in the corporate sector as the Head of Legal Services of the Daily Times of Nigeria Plc before venturing into private practice.
Mr. Adiele is a much sought after resource person. He consults for the Nigerian Law School, Lagos Campus (as an adjunct lecturer during portfolio assessment) and Legalworld Consult, and teaches on a part time basis at the Diabo Paralegal Institute, Lagos.
He was also a member of the Continuing Legal Education of Nigerian Bar Association, Lagos Branch under the able Chairmanship of Justice Roli Harriman, and facilitated a number of workshops and trainings which helped cement the reputation of the Lagos Branch as the premier centre of knowledge acquisition in legal practice.
Mr. Adiele has written several articles and published works especially in the areas of Nigerian Company Law and Practice among which is ‘Lifting the Corporate Veil and the Liability of Directors’ and ‘the Law and Practice of Receivership in Nigeria’.
