For those who are conversant with Bongo music-a brand of highlife music popularly played in the Owerri, Imo State the south eastern Nigeria, the hottest on the block, is King Ababa Nna.
The Awaka, Owerri North Local Government Area-born musician started singing in his local church choir where he also doubled as a prophet before he emerged on the music scene. His first album, ‘Ego Akokwalam’, which contained such popular songs as ‘Emelam Njo’, ‘Juana’ ‘Nne Wu Ihe’ and ‘Nwoke Ejila Ajula Ara’, pushed him into automatic limelight.
Since the release of that album, King Ababa Nna, has remained on top of the Bongo music scene. He has since added to that album with other hit releases like Ego Amaka and Okwe Agbala, among others.
