Top banker and candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, for the senate seat of Kogi East constituency, in the just concluded national assembly elections, Dr. Victor Adoji, has thanked his constituents and supporters for their love and solidarity throughout the campaigns and election.
Dr. Adoji, who lost the position to the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in an election adjudged to have been massively rigged, said he was grateful for the support he received from both his constituents, Kogi State people and Nigerians at large.
In a thank you message to his supporters posted on his Facebook page yesterday, he also cautioned his supporters to ensure that the outcome of the process did not obliterate the love and concern they hitherto had for each other, stating that the lessons learnt from the election, will enable him to have a more robust engagement in future political endeavors.

“THANK YOU ISN’T ENOUGH BUT…
My Brethren,
I warmly and respectfully thank you for your roles and contributions in the course of my political cum electoral endeavors which unfortunately berthed during what would go down as the worst election in our democratic history.
I assure you that it is not unusual in evolving democracies like ours and this seemingly prodigious phase largely provides the fillip for subsequent robust, further and future engagements.
I have said to a few people, it’s the same boiling water that softens the potato that hardens the egg and in the end it’s about your composition and not the circumstance. And since the chapter of the book that is being written hasn’t been closed, there is still the opportunity to make profound inputs.
I must emphasize that the outcome of the process must not obliterate our love and concern for each other. According to Late Dr. Chuba Okadigbo, “If you’re emotionally attached to your tribe, religion or political leaning to the point that truth and justice become secondary considerations, your education is useless. Your exposure is useless. If you cannot reason beyond petty sentiments, you are a liability to mankind”. On this note, I shall enjoin everyone to be restrained and circumspect in our evaluations and assessments so that we don’t injure long-standing fellowship
My interest is a people and a State that works and I am 100% sure that buck-passing, name-calling and blame-gaming will not bring that about.
I pray God to reward you immensely in the fullness of time.
Just saying thank you is incapable of delivering the magnitude of my gratitude but nonetheless, thank you and kindly accept my highest regards.
Victor Alewo Adoji”
