CHICAGO AGOG AS 2019 IGBO-FEST HOLDS THIS JULY

Come Friday July 26th, to Sunday July 28, 2019, Igbos from all parts of the United States of America will converge at the Jackson Park, 5700 East Hayes Drive, 63rd Street/ Hayes Chicago Illinois to celebrate this year’s Igbo Fest.

Already, the organisers are touting this year’s event to be the best since the inception of the ceremony which is one of the best cultural activities of Igbos living in the United States of America. According to them, this year’s Igbo-Fest will no doubt be the most attractive, enjoyable and most-attended since inception. 

The Igbo-Fest is organized by Igbo Associations of Chicago, under leadership of Honorable Friday Nwokoma, (Eze Gburu Gburu) and his vice, Mr. Charles Nkuku. The Igbo-Fest, is a gathering where Igbo culture and tradition are displayed by Igbos in diaspora and always witness the attendance of many visitors from all over the world.

This highly educative and entertaining event, will commence with a symposium on Friday the 26th July, 2019. It will crystalize with the festival proper and gala night on Saturday July 27th. On Sunday July 28th 2019, there will be a thanksgiving service at the Trinity Episcopal Church.

According to a release by one of the resource persons, Mr. Jasper Offorma, at this year’s festival, there will be varieties of foods and drinks.  Outside the cultural performances and dances, visitors will be entertained by a live band and the best DJ in Chicago.
