CHINEDU ORJI IS NEW ABIA SPEAKER

The member representing the Umuahia Central State Constituency in the state House of Assembly Chief Chinedum Orji has been elected as the 11th speaker of the state Assembly.

Members of the Abia State House of Assembly also elected the member representing Ohafia South State Constituency Chief Ifeanyi Uchendu, as the Deputy Speaker of the House.

Other principal officers of the 7th Assembly include, Chief Akpulonu Solomon, Majority Leader, while Hon Paul Taribo emerged asthe Deputy Majority Leader.

The member representing Aba Central State Constituency Chief Abraham Obah, was elected as Minority Leader, while the member representing Bende North State Constituency Chief Chukwu Chijioke, emerged as the Deputy Minority Leader.

The Chief Whip of the House is now Hon. Munachim Alozie while Hon Chukwudi Apugo emerged as the Minority Chief Whip.

Hon Chinedum Orji was nominated for the speakership by the member representing Ugwunabgor State Constituency Hon Munachim Alozie and seconded by the member representing Isiala Ngwa North State Constituency Hon Ginger Onwusibe.
