An upcoming musical artist, Edoror Ebosele popularly called Infinity, has expressed profound gratitude to God for transforming his life after a challenging period of seeming hopelessness in his musical career.
In a chat with journalists during his recent media tour in Lagos, the Edo State-born upcoming artist said he experienced serious challenges at the start of his career almost to the point of giving up but for God’s grace. He however expressed confidence that he would conquer the world using his music.
Infinity, a graduate of political science from Ambrose Ali University, Ekpoma recalled that he almost lost hope but that God’s grace made the difference in his musical career.
The handsome artiste who just dropped a single titled, ‘Thunder Fire Poverty,’ explained that the track was inspired by the experience he had as a poor, upcoming artiste without support from family and friends, adding that poverty played him like football.
His words, “poverty used to play me like football. I was looking at life that I’m too small for 22 players to play. If you listen to that song, you will understand that the song is an inspirational song and that the boy who sang the song is not just a little boy, but that he is emotionally and spiritually tight.
“At this point, I almost lost hope. In fact, if I tell you I did not lose hope, I’m lying. At some point I was doubting whether music is my calling and I told myself, I have to quit music, it’s not my calling. But I always have this strong feeling that I can do it even as I’m talking to you now, I have the belief that I will conquer the world.
“I’m not just doing music for the now, I am doing music to impact my society positively and inspire the youths. My music will inspire them not to lose hope regardless of the challenges they may face at any point in life. If God could intervene in my life, then he would also intervene in their lives if they look up to him. It was God’s intervention that saw me through.
“When I started my musical career, I was in two hundred level, Political Science, Ambrose Ali University, Ekpoma, I had no money, no fame or fan. I was just living as though I had no father. But then, anytime I appear anywhere, the grace of God will always cause people to rally around me, and reckon with me. I had no good clothes; I had no good songs but God’s grace continued to take me from one level of glory to another.
That is the reason I keep telling people that it was God that changed my case. I want that track, ‘Thunder Fire Poverty’ to touch the lives of Nigerians because I know that in Nigeria today people are suffering. I want thunder to fire poverty in the lives of the suffering Nigerians. Let them not lose hope in God and let them find something meaningful to do with their lives and God will bless the work of their hands before they know it.”
He advised other upcoming artistes to aspire to be original and stay through to their calling and not to copy others. He challenged them to develop themselves just as they are prayerful that God will answer them.
He further said, “Let them not be following and copying people but follow their paths with God because God creating you has a purpose for you and has also provided all that you need to live and succeed in life. Most times, we are the ones disenfranchising ourselves and turning around to blame God. You need God to succeed in life and not man.
“Are you an upcoming musical artiste, comedian whatever, you should look up to God for direction. You must also work on yourself, improve the quality of whatever it is you want to serve the public because manner no longer falls from heaven. Once you are good, fans will identify with you. Aspire to be the best at whatever you are doing”.
On the most challenging moment of his musical career, he said, “The day I was chased out of an event. I was not actually invited to the place because nobody believed I have something to offer. In fact, anywhere I attended shows they chased me out. On one occasion, I was performing a song with one of my friends and the DJ put off the song, the song we did together, he put it off. I like a peaceful atmosphere, peaceful environment where God can speak to me and I can hear him. I hate stress”.
