Operatives of the anti-graft agency, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Tuesday morning raided the residence of former Lagos Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, as part of an ongoing corruption investigation.
Already, EFCC spokesperson, Tony Orilade, has confirmed that Ambode is under a corruption probe, a few months after he left office.
Ambode’s Epe residence, we gathered, was searched early this morning. It was also gathered that was the residence of the former Governor’s Chief of Staff in the same Epe neighbourhood was also searched.
About two weeks ago, multiple bank accounts holding billions and linked to Ambode was frozen as part of the probe although Ambode has denied links to both the accounts and any allegations of corruption while in office.
