As you read this, all is set to inaugurate Chief (Dr.) Emmanuel Frank Okafor, KSC, as the new President of the famous Diamond Fitness Club of Nigeria, DFC.
Dr. Okafor defeated erstwhile Vice President, Chief Innocent Obele, (Omelorah), to emerge the third President of the prestigious Social and Fitness club in a keenly contested election held at the Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The election, which had Chief Patrick Chibueze, Chairman, CEO of Bozaac Continental Limited as Chairman Diamond Electoral Commission (DECO), also returned High Chief Austin Azubike Ekweozor, (Ide Umuawulu) as Vice President-elect.
The seven -member DECO which include Chief Osita Madueme, Chief Josiah Mgbemena of Valencia Hotels Abuja and Mr. Kingsley Okafor, who served as Secretary, also returned Chief Obum Obiudo of Best Eastern Hotels, Nnobi as 2nd Vice President.
Other officers who were elected on the night include, Mr. Charles Udochukwu, Publisher of the Jasmine Spice Magazine, (PRO), Prince Uchenna Anazodo of Utec Green Limited, (Treasurer), Mr. Obinna Nwosu(Bank Manager) as Financial Secretary, Mr. John Kelly Igboeli(Director of Socials) and Mr. Elochukwu Anigbogu of Elonel Productions as Assistant Director of Socials.
Mr. Nonso Ezeokoli(Senator), was elected Assistant Secretary while Mr. Emeka Onyeaduru(Onye Army) was elected Secretary General.
Already, his opponent in the election, Chief Innocent Obele(Omelorah) of Zenith Shippings Ltd, has congratulated him and the new exco, pledging his total support for the new administration.
In a congratulatory message, Omelorah wrote, “I wish to formally appreciate and congratulate every member of Diamond Fitness and DECO for a successful election…may I most importantly congratulate the newly elected executive led by Igwulube Ojoto. In any election as we all know, there must be a winner. The campaign and election has come and gone, they need every form of support from us for the onerous task ahead…I equally promise to deploy my contacts, where necessary and if need be, for the advancement of this new regime”.
Also, the outgoing President, Ichie Jude Onyebuchi (Akuenwebe), the pioneer President Chief Chigozie Nwolisa (Ochiora) and the Deputy Governor of Anambra State Dr Nkem Okeke (Ugogbuzuo) have all sent in their congratulatory messages to the President-elect and members of Diamond Fitness Club for exhibiting good conduct during and after the election.
Immediately after the election at the Federal Palace Hotel, some friends of the President-elect, hosted him at the Banana Island home of Chief (Sir) Ebuka Okafor KSC (Onwa Nnobi), where several millions of naira was raised to support his inauguration, expected to hold in the third week of December.
Chief Dr. Emmanuel Frank Okafor, KSC, is a former Treasurer of the club and the current Vice President. He is also the President of the exclusive F15 Club, which tenure is expected to expire in February of 2020.
Chief Dr. Okafor, KSC is into Manufacturing, Real Estate and Hospitality Industry. He is the founder and Chairman of Marcopolo Properties Ltd and Marcopolo Hotels and Suites Ltd, Lekki Lagos.
The President-elect is from Ojoto in Idemmili South LGA of Anambra State and holds the titles of Igwulube ndi Abor of Ojoto, Ichie Ezeuzu and Onwa Ojoto. He is also a philanthropist per excellence and a member of the Order of Knights of St Christopher, KSC.
