As you read this, Nnewi indigenes in Lagos are billed to smile home today, Saturday, April 18th, 2020 and tomorrow, Sunday, April 19th, 2020 as billionaire businessman and chairman of Chicason Group, Chief Dr. Alex Chika Okafor(Nwachinaemelu, Akuatuegwu), doles out special packages to them, to cushion the effect of the lockdown forced on Nigerians by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Although details of the packages were not made public, insiders say Ndi Nnewi living in Lagos, will smile home with food items and cash gifts from the business mogul.
A statement by Prince Chukwudi Ubah (Mmiri Doluedo), who is S.A to Dr. Chika Okafor stated that the special packages were for all widows, widowers and indigent families who are from Nnewi.
To receive the items which will be shared at the Spinal Cord Injuries Association Centre, Alakoso Avenue, Amuwo Odofin Industrial Estate, beneficiaries are required to contact their Community Chairmen for accreditation before proceeding to the venue. Also, in order to curb the spread of Coronavirus with regards to the government’s directives on social distancing, Ndị Umudim and Uruagu will be attended to on Saturday 18th April 2020 by 10am while Ndị Otolo and Nnewichi will be on Sunday 19th April 2020 by 10am.
