Former aspirant in the last Kogi State governorship election, Dr. Victor Alewo Adoji has asked Muslims to pray to Allah for forgiveness of mankind’s sins, as a panacea to solving the trying times the world is currently facing via the corona virus pandemic.
Dr. Adoji asked Muslims to leverage on the opportunity of Ramadan to humble themselves to pray to Allah to save the world.
In his message, Dr Adoji said, “As our Muslim brothers/sisters commence Ramadan in the most bizarre of circumstances in humanity’s recent history, we must look at the upside of the situation and leverage the opportunity it provides.
“Quran 8:33 says, “And Allah would not punish them while they seek forgiveness” clearly implying that even if our sour circumstances, the pandemic, for instance, are the result of our sins, Allah will use the power of His mercy to flush them away if only we are wise and humble enough to ask for forgiveness. There can’t be a better time than the Ramadan.
“Even further, Quran 7:156 assures that, Allah’s “mercy encompasses all things” to the effect that His mercy allays the fear of this loss who harbor feelings that they may not be forgiven. The verse affirms that Allah’s mercy is boundless, and even more, readily accessible at Ramadan.
While wishing the Muslim Umma a happy Ramadan Kareem, he urged them to follow up their prayers with the belief that Allah will resolve all the issues to the advantage of mankind. He reminded them that they must not exercise any doubt because “The truth is from Allah, so do not be among the doubters” [Quran 3:60] especially during this period of Ramadan.
