Nigeria yesterday recorded 490 new COVID-19 cases, bringing it to a total of 17,148 cases of COVID-19 in 35 states and the FCT.
This was announced by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Tuesday, June 16, 2020.
The NCDC alsoannounced a significant spike in its daily fatality toll as 31 persons were confirmed to have died of COVID-19 complications in the last 24 hours.The figure,makes it a total of 455 COVID-19 deaths recorded in the country.
The 490 new cases were recorded as follows: Lagos-142, FCT-60, Bayelsa-54, Rivers-39, Delta-37, Oyo-30, Kaduna-26, Imo-23, Enugu-19, Kwara-17, Gombe-11, Ondo-10, Bauchi-8, Ogun-7, Borno-6, Benue-1
Meanwhile, 5,623 persons have recovered and have been discharged.
