Just days after it signed an MOU with an HMO to cater for the health needs of her members, the leadership of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, has recorded another milestone as it signed an MOU with Ativo Nigeria Ltd, managers of QuickRaiz Funds to help raise Fifty Million Naira(N50,000,000.00) for Actors who are seriously down with various ailments in different hospitals across the country.
President of AGN, Mr. Emeka Rollas said the Guild conceived the idea to quickly come to the rescue of actors who were already down with various ailments and would not be able to access the newly signed MOU with the HMO due to its terms and conditions.
According to Mr. Rollas, the “AGN needed to clear this backlog of veteran actors who are seriously down while the healthy ones among us take advantage of the HMO so as not to fall victim in the future”.
Mr. Rollas, revealed that ailing veterans like Ify Onwuneme, Bruno Iwuoha, Ifeanyi Ezeokeke, Tunde Alabi, Tina Nwachukwu and several others, belong to this category.
The project which will last for three months thebladengr.com gathered, shall help ameliorate huge financial demands for healthcare delivery on many veterans in Nollywood.
While calling on state chapter chairmen to forward to the National Secretary vital information of any veteran actor on their membership who requires substantial healthcare need, Mr. Rollas stated that the fund raising campaign will start immediately.
