.PLEADS FOR CONDEMNED KANO ISLAMIC SINGER

Primate Elijah Ayodele, the leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has pleaded for mercy for condemned Kano-based Islamic singer, Yahaya Sharif-Aminu.
The Kano-based singer was last week, sentenced to die by hanging at an Upper Sharia Court, Kano, for blasphemy against Prophet Mohammed.
Primate Ayodele who referred to the 22-year old as a ‘talented youngster, said killing him, “will amount to spilling blood of the innocent”.
According to Primate Ayodele, “religion preaches love and tolerance, and killing Yahaya Shariff does not follow what religion preaches”.
The Primate, argued that even Boko Haram members who have killed several Nigerians in cold blood, have been granted amnesty. ” We must look at the case of Yahaya with love and tolerance and grant him pardon”, he said.
