.AS ARTHUR EZE’S JET BECOMES THE FIRST TO LAND

Billionaire businessman Prince Arthur Eze’s private jet, became the first to land at the newly rehabilitated runway of the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, even as the Federal Government commissions the facility for use today, Sunday, August 30 , 2020.
Prince Arthur Eze’s jet with registration number 5N-PAZ and with the billionaire businessman and Minister of Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika, on board, touched down on Saturday at exactly 4:47 pm at the airport after about 370 days of rehabilitation and extension works on the runway.

The Aviation Minister, said the Arthur Eze jet landing, was to test-run the reconstructed and rehabilitated three kilometers runway. He went further to reveal that the airport will from Sunday, August 30 resume flight activities, after a re-opening ceremony.


Sirika tweeted: “Just landed on the reconstructed Enugu runway; excellent riding quality. We will commission it for general use tomorrow, alongside very many works at Enugu. This project is also on time and within budget. Thank you Mr President. Democracy pays. To Allah be all the glory”.
On his own part, Prince Arthur Eze, congratulated President Buhari for his efforts to shore up infrastructure deficit in the South East.
It would be recalled that the Federal Government shut down the airport on August 24, 2019 for complete rehabilitation of the runway and facelift of terminal facilities. The rehabilitation works which was scheduled for six months, was interrupted by the outbreak of Coronavirus Disease.
