MIDDLE EAST AIRLINE FIRST TO ARRIVE NIGERIA AS INTERNATIONAL FLIGHTS RESUME

*The MEA flight on Saturday

Middle East Airline (MEA), on Saturday, became the first foreign airline to touch down at the Muritala Mohammed International Airport, MMIA, five months after Nigeria closed its airspace following the coronavirus scourge.

The flight which took off from Beirut, Lebanon, arrived MMIA, Lagos at exactly 2.30 pm.

Officials of the Aerodrome and Rescue Fire Fighters welcomed the aircraft with a water cannon demonstration.

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Port Health Services (PHS), Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) and other relevant agencies, attended to the passengers aboard the airline.

On arrival at the terminal, passengers presented their COVID-19 PCR test results for screening by the Port Health Services officials, while their travelling papers, passports and visas were thoroughly checked by the immigration officials at the airport.

At the arrival and departure halls of the airports, the arriving and departing passengers observed the social distancing protocols, just as it is being currently observed on the domestic routes.
