Passion for Excellence (PAFEX), a youth development initiative, has entered into a partnership with Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV), to curtail cultism and other vices among the youths.

PAFEX founder and coordinator, Mr. Amobi Madu, revealed this on Wednesday when he was accompanied by the organisation’s Lead Strategist/Creative Director, Comr. Madu, said the visit was to strengthen ties between PAFEX and the Nigerian Police while proposing their interest to collaborate with POCACOV.

POCACOV is an initiative of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Adamu Abubakar Mohammed, NPM, mni.

Madu who explained that his passion for all-round quality growth and development of young people led PAFEX to be on the search for good initiatives that will help develop the young child.

This quest he said, brought him to the knowledge of the POCACOV project, hence the need for PAFEX to identify and partner with the initiative.

At the event, Madu commended the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Adamu Abubakar Mohammed, NPM, mni for conceiving and birthing such a unique policing program, with broad community inclusion strategy, which is easy to replicate and very effective in the fight against cultism, the mother of all crimes.

He further revealed that PAFEX had partnered a number of brands like Treasurewells Film Academy, Google, Ogelle, All Africa Media Network and more, to produce events and trainings for the young people in various cities in Nigeria.

He informed that PAFEX was collaborating with notable African organisations to host a SmartPhone Film Making Workshops in Accra, Kigali and Cape town soon.

In his response, the National Coordinator of POCACOV, CSP Ebere Amaraizu, Anipr, Cipr, expressed the unalloyed willingness of the Police to partner with brands like PAFEX who are societal positive change agents and have the core mandate for community development.

He further offered ambassadorial status to both representatives of PAFEX present, stating that POCACOV represented a new approach by the Inspector General of Police in combating cultism and other vices, where proactive policing strategy is adopted and encouraged over reactive policing.

CSP Amaraizu reassured on the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to this timely project, and invited all well-meaning citizens and stakeholders to join hands with the police to save our youth and in extension, the entire society from the claws of Cultism – which he described as an envelope containing many crimes and vices.
