There is palpable tension in Nollywood as the Board of Trustees of the Association of Movie Producers, AMP, move to make a pronouncement on the election crisis that has rocked the body since the past two weeks.
There are rumours that the BoT had decided to quash the disputed elections and order a fresh one.
Thebladengr.com can report authoritatively that the BoT, rose from a meeting in Lagos on Sunday and will formally make its stand known at a media event tomorrow.
The BoT we hear, is making the move since the factional Presidents have refused to meet and resolve the issue among themselves.
It will be recalled that Barr. Peace Anyiam Osigwe was elected President of the body in Asaba Delta State on Saturday August 29, 2020, eight hours after Myke Parish had been elected by another faction in Surulere, Lagos.
The election had triggered a leadership crisis, forcing some elders and stakeholders to seek an urgent resolution.
Peace talks had commenced on Tuesday, September 1st, 2020, when the two warring Presidents met for the first time at a parley in Lagos.
Thebladengr.com gathered that the BoT had given the ‘two presidents’ one week to resolve the issue between them. The warring factions were to have made a submission to the BoT last Monday but both parties after that first meeting, were yet to notify the BoT led by Nollywood veteran, Chief Zeb Ejiro, OON, of their decision on the matter.
