The #EndSARS crisis in Nigeria has maintained it’s dramatic offerings on a daily basis.
While Wednesday featured burning of public and private assets as well as looting, Thursday was the veritable day of Jailbreaks across the country.
The drama began early in the day when hoodlums broke into the National Correctional Service Centre in Okitipupa, the headquarters of Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State, and forcefully released the inmates.
It was gathered that no fewer than 58 inmates were released during the attack while a vehicle was burnt while items worth several millions of Naira, were destroyed.
Several miles away, inmates at the Afara Correctional Facility, Umuahia, the Abia State capital, reportedly attempted to break out of the Prison, but were resisted by Military and Prison Officers on ground at the facility.
There was yet another attempted jailbreak at the Warri Prison, Delta State where protesting inmates tried to burn down the place just as suspected hoodlums stormed the prison to set them free.
However, soldiers swiftly prevented the escape of the prisoners.
In Lagos, a combined team of correctional officers, soldiers, police and the Civil Defence, successfully foiled a revolt and attempted jailbreak at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre.
Thebladengr.com, gathered that some inmates ignited fire in parts of the centre in order to pave way for their escape from the prison.
Although the Records and Administration offices of the centre were razed, no inmate escaped.
