Popular actor, John Setor Dumelo‘s dream of unseating incumbent parliamentarian, Lydia Alhassan for the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency, has crashed.
Dumelo, who was banking on his screen popularity, got 37,778 votes against NPP’s Lydia Alhassan who garnered 39,851 votes at the Ghana Presidential and Parliamentary elections held on Monday, December 7, 2020.

Mrs Alhassan had replaced her late husband Emmanuel Boakye Agyarko when she contested and won the parliamentary seat in January 2019.
Savoring her victory, incumbent MP Alhassan Tweeted early Tuesday, “Thank you God for an answered prayer. Thank you Ayawaso West Wuogon for this Victory. I take my scripture from Proverbs 21:31.”
