All roads lead to the Holy Child Catholic Church premises in Ochima, along 9th mile/Markudi road, Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area of Enugu State on Saturday December 19, 2020.
The event, is the 2020 edition of the Barr. Sam Otoboeze Foundation, BSOF empowerment programme.
Activities marking this year’s event, which is themed “Empowering the Youth & Less Privileged to Shape Nigeria’s Future”, will commence on Friday 18th, with a public lecture for youths on Skill Acquisition and Training. This will be followed in the evening by another programme tagged, “Bishop’s Night”.
The event proper will then hold on Saturday, December 19, 2020 with former Inspector General of Police, Dr.(Sir) Mike Okiro, with Enugu State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi as the Special Guest of honor while HRH H.A. Ugwogbuke, will be Royal father of the day.
For those who do not know, the Barr. Sam Otoboeze Foundation, BSOF, was founded as an NGO in 1981 by NNPC top shot, Barr. Sam Otoboeze. The NGO which later transformed into a Foundation in 2010, has been severally honoured for providing scholarships to several hundreds of students as well as provided artificial limbs to hundreds without legs.
University of Jos trained Sociologist, Lawyer and security expert, Sam Otoboeze, is also one of the founding fathers of the popular Nsukka Professionals Group, an association which has produced several notable leaders in the South East, including the Vice Chancellor of UNN, President of Ohaneze Ndigbo and Governor of Enugu State, among others.
