VETERAN MUSICIAN ‘JONNY FLEMING’ NWAEHIBE TO BE BURIED JANUARY 13

The remains of late veteran musician, Hon. Chief “Jonny Fleming” Ngozi Nwaehibe, will be buried in his home town, Umuobiakwa, Abia State on Wednesday, January 13, 2021.

According to a programme released by his family, the late Jonny Fleming’s funeral rights will commence on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 with a wake keep at his Umuokoro Umuobiakwa, Obingwa Local Government Area, Abia State, homestead.  

The programme which was released by his son, Ebubechukwu Nwaehibe on behalf of the family, said the musician’s body, will lie in state on Wednesday 13th January which will be followed by a funeral service conducted by the SeventhDay Adventist Church, Umuobiakwa.

Interment, will follow immediately after the church service.

Already, Governor of PMAN, Abia State chapter, Apostle Chidindu James, has asked all members to participate in the event.

Late Jonny Fleming Nwaehibe who died at the age of 71 years late last year, came into career limelight in the 60s as a Keyboard supremo with the defunct popular band-‘Wings’ of Aba.

When the Wings disbanded following the death of vocalist, Spud Nathans, Jonny Fleming Nwaehibe joined the faction which formed the ‘Original Wings’.

He wrote songs like “Please don’t call me a fool for loving you”, “What a world” and others.
