Just hours after a new petrol pump price was projected by the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency, PPPRA, there has been mild drama over what the authentic situation is.
The drama began when the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) this morning, insisted that there is no increment in the ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit also known as petrol this month despite a template released by the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency that the new price of petrol has reached N212.6 per litre.
Hours later, the confusion was heightened when the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA) deleted the petrol pricing template which they piblished on Thursday, to announce an increase in the retail price of petrol.
The template, published on its website on Thursday night, was deleted on Friday morning amid the outrage over the price increase.
The template had said the recommended retail price is between N209.61 and N212.61 per litre while the landing cost of petrol was put at N189.61.
