NOLLYWOOD STAR, EDITH-JANE AYALOGU LOSES MUM

Star actress and TV personality, Edith-Jane Azu Ayalogu is bereaved.

Her mother, Mrs Comfort Azu nee Ikediashi, died on the 3rd March 2021 at the age of 79.

Born on February 15,1942, at Ubulu Uku, old Western Region, Late Madam Azu had her early education in Ubulu Uku where she lived with her maternal grandmother.

A beautiful village minstrel with a sonorous voice and a pleasant personality who was loved by all that came in contact with her, she was part of the Village choir in those days and always endeared herself to others with her prolific dancing skills.

She was married to Mr Ephraim Azu of Umuidu quarters of Ubulu Okiti, in 1965 and relocated to Lagos where he lived and worked.

A fastidious disciplinarian and a practicing Christian who was always active in church activities, Mrs Comfort Azu was of the “old school” and instilled good discipline in all her children.

Maama, as she was fondly called was special in so many ways with a great sense of humour. She was a supportive wife and mother to all and a hard worker who wanted nothing but the best for all.

Her funeral rites will commence with a wake keep on Friday March, 26, 2021 at No. 1 Ganiyu Olanrewaju street, Checkpoint Bus stop, Ibiye, Agbara, Lagos.

Interment will follow on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Ajara Cemetery, Badagry.

She was blessed with many children, grandchildren and great grandchildren including star actress Edith-Jane Azu who is married to popular actor, teacher, screen playwright and producer, Mr. Emma Ayalogu.
