The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has declared the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chimaobi Ebisike, as the winner of Saturday, March 27, 2021 bye-election for the Aba North and South Federal constituency seat.
Ebisike won with an overwhelming 11,980 votes to defeat his closest rival, Mascot Uzor Kalu of the All Progressives Congress, APC, who garnered 3,489 votes.
The All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, candidate, polled 1,222 votes to place third, while candidate of the Action Alliance (AA), came a distant fourth position with 78 votes.
At a Thanksgiving to celebrate the victory yesterday, Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu ascribed the victory to God while thanking Aba people for their support. He also advised the House of Representatives member-elect not to forget the people that voted for him and to work for them while at the National Assembly.
