The Nigeria Police headquarters, Owerri, Imo State and the Nigeria Correctional Services(Prisons) has come under heavy attack by unknown gunmen.
Those on ground, say several prisoners were released as the Police cells were also blown open and detainees released while the attackers urged them to “go home, Jesus has risen”.
Casualties are yet to be ascertained in the incident that took place between 12am and 3am on Easter Monday morning.
