Let’s talk economy and Prophet TB Joshua.
It’s doubtful if many Nigerians in their individual capacities brought more foreign exchange to the country than the departed Prophet.
His religious endeavor brought thousands of foreigners into Nigeria every year on religious pilgrimage. Some came as tourists. They brought along with them possibly millions of dollars into Nigeria’s economy. Along with the foreign exchange came jobs and employment.
These issues make a lot of meaning to us who are financial journalists.
Never neglect these issues in the matrix for a thriving economy along with your adherence to your religion.
Some decades back a friend and professional colleague drummed into my ears the stabilizing role played by religious pilgrimages in the foreign exchange economy of Saudi Arabia, Israel and Rome.
He told me that as long as the world remains, religion will thrive and religious pilgrimages will play a leading role. And Saudi Arabia, Israel and Rome will never lack in foreign exchange.
