Ibom Air has taken delivery of two brand new Airbus A220-300s ahead of plans to expand into the regional West African market.


The two new aircrafts were received Sunday at the Obong Victor Attah International Airport, Uyo, bringing the total number of aircrafts of Ibom Air to seven.
Ibom Air, the Akwa Ibom State owned airline which flies between Lagos, Abuja, Enugu and Calabar already operates a fleet of five CRJ900LRs, three of which are leased from Avmax Aircraft Leasing. The other two are leased from Falko Regional Aircraft.
At the event, Governor Udom Emmanuel announced that 10 Airbus A220-300 series jets, will be added to the fleet of Ibom Airline before his tenure elapses in 2023. This he said, will enable Ibom Air to takeover the entire airspace in the West African region.
