Capital Oil boss, Senator Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah has emerged the Governorship candidate of the Young Progressives Party, YPP, for the November 6, 2021 Gubernatorial election in Anambra State.


Ubah picked the ticket on Saturday at the party’s primary election held in Awka, the state capital. The Senator who represents Anambra South at the Senate, received 108 out of the 109 accredited delegate votes, to emerge winner.
Announcing the result of the exercise of the event which held at Wintess Garden Hotel and Suites, Ifite Road Awka, the Returning Officer Videyemo Bamaiyi said that the Anambra South Senator was the only person that showed interest to contest on the party’s platform after months of advertorial of the sale of Nomination and Expression of Interest Form for the 2021 Anambra State Governorship election.
Speaking while handing the party’s flag to Sen. Ubah, National Chairman of YPP, Bishop Amakiri congratulated Senator Ubah on behalf of the members and officials of the party at National, State and Local Government levels. He also thanked ndị Anambra for their huge supports for the party and urged them to consolidate those supports by registering with the party at their various Wards.
In his remarks, Senator Ubah thanked the party’s delegates for believing in him and unanimously ratifying his aspiration. He also thanked his constituents for their support and reassured ndị Anambra that his emergence as YPP’s flag bearer will serve as a strong foundation for his vision of a New Anambra where various sectors of the economy will be developed and people’s wellbeing improved.
A representative of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Mr. Damian Akhame as well as other observers were on ground at the primary election.
