TOKYO OLYMPICS: BLESSING OBORODUDU GIVES NIGERIA ASSURANCE FOR MEDAL, CRUISES INTO 68KG WRESTLING FINAL

Tobi Amusan’s impressive performance at the 100m hurdles broke Nigerian hearts Monday morning when she placed fourth but   Blessing Oborodudu soon restored hope as she qualified for the final in the women’s wrestling event at the ongoing Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

Oborududu beat Battsetseg Soronzobold of Mongolia 7-2 to reach the final of the 68kg. Oborodudu’s qualification guarantees Team Nigeria a silver or gold medal in Tokyo Olympics.

The impressive Nigerian wrestler faces America’s Tamyra Mensah-Stock in the final.

She had defeated Azerbaijani’s Elis Manolova and Meerim Zhumanazarova of Kyrgyzstan to advance to her first Olympic semi-final.
