Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State, COSON Chairman Tony Okoroji, music greats, Charlimo, Tee Mac and several dignitaries from across the globe were in Benin City on Friday October 15, 2021 as the remains of superstar musician, sculptor and teacher, Prof Sir Victor Uwaifo was committed to mother earth.
The funeral Mass which was presided over by the Most Rev. Arch Bishop Augustine Obiora Akubeze, the Bishop of the Benin Arch diocese, held at the Ogbe Hard Court in Benin City.
Uwaifo was later laid to rest in his residence, at Victor Uwaifo Avenue off College Road, Ekehuan, Benin City.
Uwaifo died late in August after a brief illness. He was aged 80 years.
