Enyimba International Football Club of Aba, on Saturday, posted a 1-0 win over Diambars of Senegal in a first-round of CAF Confederations Cup game in Senegal.
Enyimba netted the only goal of the match in the 87th minute through a spot-kick.
The result sees the former CAF Champions League winners in good stead to progress to the second round. Enyimba is two times winners of the CAF Champions League after they won the title in 2003 and 2004.
The result also saw new coach Finidi George making a winning start to his career as the coach of eight times Nigerian champions.
