Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Sen Andy Uba, candidate of the Accord(A), Dr. Godwin Maduka, are among 11 candidates who have approached the Tribunal seeking to overturn the November 6th Anambra State governorship election won by Prof. Charles Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA.
Part of the allegations put forward by the challengers, include irregularities, illegal use of the Bi-Modal Accreditation Verification System, BVAS, by INEC and disenfranchisement.
The United Patriots Party it was gathered, will be asking for cancellation of the poll on the grounds of wrongful exclusion of the party’s name from the ballot.
Other political parties which met the 21 days deadline and have filed their petitions include, Action Democratic Party (ADP) and it’s candidate Prince Adam Ume-Ezeoke, Green Party and the Action People’s Party, APP among others.
Secretary of the tribunal, Barr Surajo Gusau disclosed that the three-man panel of Tribunal Judges are expected to arrive Anambra State soon.
