A Shotgun is a golf tournament format in which players are drawn in groups and tee off simultaneously from different holes. A Shotgun is shot into the air to signal the start of the tournament.
Group 1 will start from Hole 1, Group 2 from hole 2, etc. Each hole is the tee off hole for every member of the group. All the groups start play at the same time.
Meanwhile, the Lady Captain Richard-Obioha led other members of the Ladies Section on a tree planting exercise, on Thursday, as part of preparations for the Seniors Tournament.
Men of the IBB Int’l Golf and Country Club joined in the exercise, including some individuals and kitty groups.
The Ladies planted economic trees like India lemon, sweet oranges and lime while the men planted Royal palms.
The Kitty groups planted royal palms and individuals planted the same trees; each individual has the tree named after them and they are expected to maintain the trees.
The tree planting exercise will continue next week, after the 2021 Seniors Tournament ends this Saturday.
