Winners of different categories have been announced for the just concluded Lagos International Film Festival, LIFF, have been announced.
Zimbabwe-born President of the Jury, Stephen Chigorimbo, released the winners list on Friday.
According to the statement, Nigerian movies and filmmakers led the pack by winning in six out of the eleven(11) categories competed for at the festival.
They include; Best Costume, Best Documentary, Best African Indigenous Language Feature, Best Short Film, Best Student Film and Best Director.
The five-man Jury which include, Faika Ibrahim Rahi(Nigeria), Madam Akofa Edjeani (Nigeria), Madam Sylvie Nwet (Cameroon) and the Very Reverend P C Okeiyi (Nigeria), also adjudged Ghanaian film ‘Heroes Of Africa’ as winner of the Best Editing and Best Screenplay categories.
Zambia’s Maria Kristu, picked Best Actor with the film, ‘Dyness Daisy Lungu’ while Best Nigerian Feature Film went to Victoria Obaze for her efforts in the flick, ‘Madam Speaker’.
LIFF, founded by internationally acclaimed filmmaker, Mr. Madu Chikwendu, held from December 9-12, 2021 at the Cineplex of the Nigerian Film Corporation, Obalende, Lagos.
