FRESH HURDLES FOR IPOB LEADER NNAMDI KANU AS FG FILES NEW CHARGES AGAINST HIM

The Federal Government has amended the charges against IPOB leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu from 7 counts to 15 counts, including one on terrorism.

Lawyer to the IPOB leader, Aloy Ejimakor, confirmed that the FG had amended the charge on Monday.

It will be recalled that Kanu,  was re-arraigned in October 2021 on a seven-count charge, on charges bordering on treasonable felony.

The IPOB leader who is currently in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) is scheduled to appear in court today (Tuesday) for the continuation of his trial.

Before the fresh counts was filed, the judge had fixed to hear the application filed by Kanu challenging the competence of the charge and jurisdiction of the court.

Meanwhile, a high court in Umuahia, Abia State, has fixed January 19 to deliver judgment in the fundamental human rights suit instituted by the IPOB leader.
