Popular fashion Designer Ugomdi Ogbonna, has joined the race for the Abia State House of Assembly, in the 2023 general elections.
Popularly known by his trade name, “Toskyme”, Ogbonna is vying for the Aba Central State Constituency in the Abia House.
The Toskyme boss, declared his ambition on a social media post he made on Tuesday.
According to him, “Through the sweat and tears, we have lived the Aba dream; to be the biggest and best home of artisans, merchants, and innovators. We have made headway as a people despite our innumerable challenges. We have stood tall and kept hope alive…We have pushed ourselves this high as a people who believe in the strength of hardwork. It is time to replicate same in governance at the Aba Central State Constituency”, he wrote.
Apart from being one of the biggest fashion designers in Nigeria, Toskyme has also being a philanthropist of note, helping young people to achieve their dreams especially in his Aba Central area.
Toskyme, is also one of the brains behind the much acclaimed annual Aba Fashion Week which is in it’s third edition this year.

It is that time in our journey to take stock.
How far have we come as a people?
What have we done?
What more can we do?
We need to have an honest conversation on how we intend to achieve the greater things we yearn for.

Now it’s time to take our future in our hands and forge our path to greatness.
My name is Ugomdi Ogbonna, your brother, friend, and your Aba Tailor. I am offering myself to serve you in the Abia State House of Assembly, and as we begin this journey, I appeal that you join hands with us.
We have pushed ourselves this high as a people who believe in the strength of hardwork. It is time to replicate same in governance. Aba Central state constituency is the home of artisans, and innovators, mediocrity has no place in what we do here.
I have the knowledge, the skill, and the capacity to represent our beloved Aba Central and ensure that we grow.
