TOP JOURNALIST, SUNNY OKIM LAUNCHES NEW ONLINE NEWSPAPER, ‘THE FRONTIER’

Top Nigerian media practitioner, Ambassador Sunny Okim has added a new title, The Frontier, to the world’s media space.

According to the veteran journalist, The Frontier, an online daily newspaper, is his special gift to the world as he clocks 59 years today Saturday March 5, 2022.

Okim had started the countdown to his birthday from March 1, promising a special birthday gift to the world on his birthday.

Fondly called The Grandmaster by colleagues and friends for being in the forefront among the few entertainment journalists who projected and promoted the country’s movie industry from inception, now popularly known as Nollywood, Okim told this paper that The Frontier will strive towards serving its readers the best journalism can offer.

“We at The Frontier promise to provide a true companion to our esteem readers around the world with stories which will capture the three cardinal attributes of standard journalism, that is, Informative, Educative, Entertaining.

“These are the three ingredients our readers will enjoy as we serve them stories in The Frontier daily, in the morning (breakfast), afternoon (lunch) and evening (supper). In The Frontier, you find ‘All the news’,” he enthused.

A graduate of English Language from the University of Lagos, Okim’s journalism career spans about three decades, having worked at top management positions of various publications.

He was Head, Business & Economy Desk of late Mee Mofe Damijo’s Weekend Classique, he later in 1994 joined HINTS magazine published by Dr. Ibe Kachikwu and left as Senior Editor/Secretary to Management after 11 years of quality service.

Okim later worked with Mr. Muyiwa Adetiba, the man fondly referred to as the King of Nigeria’s softsell journalism, where he served as Managing Editor of City Mail Newspaper.

Until a few days back, the Akwa Ibom State-born pen pusher was the Executive Editor of News Express, a foremost online newspaper published by international award-winning journalist, Mr. Isaac Umunna.

Okim is also a PR Ambassador to The Salvation Army, the largest denomination known internationally for its humanitarian services.

He promises to bring his vast and rich journalism experience into The Frontier (www.thefrontierngr.com) as Publisher/Editor-in-Chief.
