Wife of the Governor of Anambra State, and founder Caring Family Enhancement Initiative (CAFÉ) Dr. Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano, (Osodieme) has declared interest to run for Anambra North Senatorial Zone seat in the National Assembly.
Mrs Obiano who said she will run under the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), made the declaration at Aguleri country home of the Governor, on Sunday, March 6th, 2022, in the presence of Governor Obiano, the Speaker Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon Uche Okafor and APGA executives in all the wards in Anambra North Senatorial Zone.
Mrs Obiano, said she had firstly secured approval and support of her husband, Governor Obiano and assured APGA faithful she is going to Senate to attract constituency projects to the zone.
Responding on behalf of the Transitional Committee Chairmen of the seven local government areas in the zone, the Chairman of Onitsha South LGA, Hon Emeka Asoanya, expressed his happiness that Osodieme has finally heed the call to represent her people (Anambra North) at the Red Chambers. He also expressed surprise that Osodieme is a registered party member in Ogbunike Ward One, instead of Aguleri ward.
In his remarks, the ward Chairman of Ogbunike ward 1, Hon Nzeako Samuel who incidentally is Osodieme’s ward Chairman, declared their readiness to support their daughter, describing her as the light with which they see in their political ward and Oyi LGA in general.
