Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor E.A Adeboye, the National President, Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Bishop Francis Wale Oke; founding and Senior Pastor of Word of Life Bible Church, Ayo Oritsejafor; and Presiding Bishop of The Redeemed Evangelical Mission (TREM), Bishop Mike Okonkwo were among prominent Nigerians who paid tribute as the General Overseer and founder, Christian Pentecostal Mission (CPM) International, Rev. Dr. Obiora Ezekiel, was buried in Lagos on Friday.
Pastor Adeboye described the late Rev. Ezekiel as an extremely generous man, during the commendation service at Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.
TREM founder, Bishop Mike Okonkwo, on his part said, late Ezekiel was a unique man of God who was a demon destroyer and set captives free.
Others who spoke at the event, were ArchBishop Ayo Oritsejafor, President Living Faith Church, Bishop David Oyedepo, Bishop Wale Oke, founder of Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association, Rev. Uma Ukpai among several others.
His widow, Rev. Mercy Ezekiel described her late husband as a great man of God that lived for others. According to her, “He lived for the gospel. He is my friend, my brother. He is everything to me.”
The burial rites commenced with a service of songs in all state headquarters of CPM International on March 17.
Between Tuesday and Thursday March 22-24, another service songs will held at CPM national and international headquarters, Ajao Estate, Lagos.
Born in 1943 to the family of Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Nwogu of Iruowelle Village, Awka-Etiti in Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State, Rev. Dr. Ezekiel was an apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor and erudite preacher of the gospel.
He is the founder and General Overseer of CPM, President Pentecostal International Bible Seminary, Lagos and a founding father of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN.
The CPM founder, died on November 19, 2021 at the age of 78.
