EKITI 2022: TRANSPORT WORKERS IN TROUBLE AS RESIDENTS REJECT CARS WITH BAO’S STICKERS

Politics in it’s usual self is a game of number through influence but things fell apart for Ekiti State transport workers as citizens reject commercial vehicles with the APC candidate Biodun Oyebanji’s (BAO) stickers.

In less than 50 days to Ekiti Poll, the ruling party in the state is experiencing a set back as drivers are compelled to remove the pasted stickers of the party’s gubernatorial candidate from their commercial vehicles in other to earn their daily income.

It was gathered on 12th of May 2022 at the Central renowned Fajuyi park that taxis with APC posters were rejected by commuters, in which this has caused a drastic fall of income for the transport workers in the state.

In a brief interrogation with some of the drivers which names were hidden, they noted that the poster on their vehicles wasn’t their wish but a compelled authority. We were forced against our wish and we are helpless as that is our only means of feeding our families, now we are at the red sea of this show and all we pray is God’s intervention, to touch the people’s heart, make them understand we are not APC member but under a force beyond our power.

According to the drivers “many are on daily returns, since the advent of this forceful stickers on our or cars it has been so difficult for us to pay our daily return, as many reject our cars saying we are APC members, even some to an extent call us agents to kidnappers and Fulani.
