Justice Bolanle Okikiolu-Ighile of the Lagos High Court sitting at the Tafawa Balewa Square on Friday, sentenced a Dane, Peter Nielsen, to death by hanging for killing his Nigerian wife and daughter.
Nielsen was convicted on two counts of murder brought against him by the Lagos State government.
Nielsen, was sentenced to death by hanging on both counts, for the crime he committed on June 13, 2018. He wascharged with the death of his wife and singer, Zainab, and their three-year-old daughter, Petra.
The state government had accused him of smothering Zainab and Petra to death at 3:45am at No. 4, Flat 17, Bella Vista Tower, Banana Island, Ikoyi.
Justice Okikiolu-Ighile, held that oral and documentary evidence before the court showed that the prosecution proved beyond reasonable doubt that Nielsen smothered his wife and daughter.
