Leading socio-cultural organisation, Ngwa Social Club (NSC) has congratulated former Abia State University, ABSU. Vice Chancellor, Prof. Uchenna Eleazar Ikonne for emerging victorious in the just concluded governorship primaries of the Peoples Democratoc Party, PDP.
Prof. Ikonne, beat other 10 rivals, to emerge PDP Abia State governorship candidate for the 2023 general election.
In a solidarity message signed by the president of the NSC, Prof. Prof Paul C. Ananaba SAN, FNIM, the Club said it was pleased that Prof. Ikonne, an erudite scholar, a tested, experienced and proven administrator; a technocrat to the core; and an accomplished achiever, got the nod of delegates.
Ananaba stated that the Club, being the conscience and respected voice of the Ngwa people, has always considered, actively supported and steadfastly pursued only what it is convinced is in the best interest of the people of Ngwaland. The NSC said it was convinced that Ikonne as Governor, will improve on the accomplishments of Governor Okezie lkpeazu for a better Abia State.
The NSC, promised to work hard to ensure that Prof. Ikonne indeed, will win the election in 2023 and succeed and build on the legacies of Dr. Ikpeazu.
