Nigerian music artiste, Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, on Sunday night, joined the class of her compatriots, 2Baba, D’banj, Ice Prince, Wizkid, Davido and Burna Boy, when she won the Best International Act at the 2022 Awards ceremony.
Tems however, added to the records when she became the first ever Nigerian female act to win the plaque.
The talented singer, songwriter and record producer was nominated with many other talented artistes like Fireboy, Dinos from France, Dave from the UK, Little Simz also from the UK, Fally Ipupa from Congo, Major League Djz from South Africa amongst many others.
Tems also received another award on the night for her record with Wizkid and Justin Bieber.
The BET Awards which celebrates Black excellence in music, culture and sports held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, United States of America.
