Uzochi Lolia Ifeanyiukachu, also known as Zochi, is a Nigerian born singer and song writer of Imo and Rivers decent based in Canada.
Zochi who grew up in Port Harcourt Nigeria, is bringing a new school approach to Afro music with his single, ‘Whole Again’.
Zochi has been creating attention with ‘Whole Again’, an Afro Beat single which he says is telling a love story “one chord at a time”.
Already there is an unofficial music video for ‘Whole Again’, shot by Cory Maclean.
Although his latest Afro Beats single is what sets him apart from the rest, his craft also include other genres like Classical music, Hip-hop and Rnb sounds.
As an upcoming artist, Zochi has made some accomplishments for himself since moving to Canada and recording his music professionally.
This year, Zochi got featured on an article on CBC Music (Canadian public broadcaster for both radio and television) “12 Sask Musicians changing the sound of the province” in Regina Saskatchewan, where she currently lives. The article was published nationwide as well.
Also, the Afro Beat single ‘Whole Again’ has been featured on both CBC Music, the block radio program nationwide and a couple times on Saskatchewan weekend Program provincial-wide helping Zochi gain significant Shazam numbers and streams from mostly Montreal Quebec.
Zochi is no stranger to performing live music and wowing his audience. He has also headlined two of Regina’s major festivals this year, Frost Festival a winter festival in February where he performed for 45 mins with a solo set of both released and unreleased music.
He was the cynosure of all eyes at the Annual Cathedral Village Arts Festival 2022 in Regina Saskatchewan in May, where he performed a set compromising of mostly unreleased music with Dj Rain.
Zochi is currently working on releasing more Afro Beat singles with his new management team Maze Music Publishing headed by Chidi Uzoeshi, which he got signed to earlier in the month of July.
His next Afro Beat singles as expected, will not fail to capture Zochi’s creative side using his Nigerian roots and inbred influences coupled with the north American influence in his style to capture the hearts of his audience both locally and internationally, using love as the catalyst.
